Crisis Communications Strategies

 
 

Crisis Management planning is the process that organizations use to prepare for crisis events. Through that preparation, they can exercise some control over the event outcomes, and mitigate damage.

  • Assemble a Crisis Team and build a communications plan 
  • Create crisis news releases 
  • Learn to handle media relations and field questions 
  • Create structures to communicate with stakeholders and the public 
  • Manage the aftermath 

Who this is for: This course is for senior communications personnel who are responsible for crisis strategy.

Timeline: 4 weeks x 2 hours per week.

Time and Dates:  10 a.m.-Noon Central.

Dates: Wednesdays, Feb. 8, 15, 22 and March 1, 2023.

Fee: $300 per person for CMA members; $1,200 per person for non-members. We are pleased to offer training programs for CMA members at a low cost, made possible thanks to the USCCB Catholic Communication Campaign.

About the PRTA

The PR Training Academy is built on years of professional and academic experience in the Communications industry. Our courses reflect industry change and trends and are delivered from the perspective of a PR professional.

Our founder, Ellen Gunning, has been working in the PR industry for the past 25 years and is author of the core text "Public Relations: A Practical Approach" (Macmillan Higher Education UK, 3rd Edition, October 2018), which is studied by third level students internationally.

She has drawn together a team of worldwide, world-class professionals who tutor our courses and bring real-world experience to our training.

Our trainers include TV and radio presenters, PR professionals, content creators, journalists, academics, marketeers, and leadership and empowerment coaches. These trainers are based in Ireland, USA, Colombia, Canada and New Zealand. We also work with partner colleges in Greece, Nigeria and the Middle East.

Colette Newport, COO, Training and Development. Colette Newport is the key liaison for the PR Training Academy and the CMA. She acts as point of contact for all participants and trainers over the course of the training programs.
