Catholic Media Association honors student journalists, alumni magazines with St. Juan Diego Awards

CHICAGO, Illinois (May 5, 2023) — The Catholic Media Association is pleased to announce the winners of the 2023 St. Juan Diego Collegiate Awards, which recognize excellence in journalism and communications by students and alumni of Catholic colleges and universities. The awards honor media that embodies goodwill, compassion and uplifting spirit, inspired by St. Juan Diego, the messenger of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The winners were selected from 100 entries in various categories, including design, writing, photography, broadcast and digital media. The entries were judged by professional journalists and communicators from CMA's membership, who provided constructive feedback to the participants.

The St. Juan Diego Collegiate Awards promotes excellence in professional journalism and communications practices, with the goal of nurturing the next generation of Catholic media professionals.

Winners are listed in annual Awards Issue of The Catholic Journalist, receive a certificate, and are acknowledged at the Catholic Media Conference, which will take place on June 6-9, 2023, in Baltimore. Students and professors who entered the program may attend the conference workshop sessions free of charge. The conference is an opportunity for students and alumni to network with hundreds of media professionals from across North America. More about the Catholic Media Conference can be found here: catholicmediaconference.org.

The CMA congratulates all the winners and thanks them for their contribution to the Catholic media landscape. The full list of winners can be found on the CMA website: catholicmediaconference.org/collegiate-awards.
