Help us understand how the closure of CNS' domestic operations will affect you

May 9, 2022

Dear Friends,

There are many questions and concerns surrounding the USCCB’s plans to close Catholic News Services’ domestic operations at the end of 2022. We are working to get you answers.

When we first learned of this news on May 4, the Catholic Media Association Board of Directors convened an emergency meeting seeking to make sense of this situation. On May 5, the CMA-CNS Liaison Committee — a group of CNS-client editors who interface directly with the news service on behalf of Catholic publications — met to discuss the impact this will have on publications, websites, communications offices, Church ministries, and the Catholic faithful.

As we work to better understand this situation, we want to ensure your voice is heard. Please share with us your questions, concerns and ideas:

Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. Our objective is to compile a list of your questions and concerns by Wednesday, with the hope of getting you answers as quickly as possible.

We are especially grateful for the outpouring of support for our CNS and USCCB colleagues impacted by this reorganization. Please reach out to them and keep them in your prayers.

St. Francis de Sales, pray for us.
