Reaching New Audiences with Podcasts

Next Session: May 18, 2022

Podcasts have exploded as a communications medium. They are an ideal way to connect with your audience on the go. Topics can range from special interests to current affairs and can be created and promoted with minimal resources.

Participants will learn:

  • What a podcast is and why they are created
  • How to select suitable content.
  • The use of podcasts as a PR tool for business
  • How to grab and keep your audience’s attention
  • Necessary planning and preparation practicalities
  • How to visually brand and upload your podcast
  • Use of online editing software

CMA members can benefit from the podcasting phenomenon by utilizing the content they already have and repurposing it as podcasts. This can include readings, interviews with church leaders, community figures and discussion forums on topics relevant to their audiences.

This 4-week course is delivered by webinar with supporting online content. Participants will be introduced to the practical elements of creating a podcast and the preparation and planning involved. There will be step by step tutorial on the use of free editing software.

On completion of this training, participants will be able to plan and prepare their podcasts, record and edit their content, then upload, brand and promote the podcast to their audience.
