For media professionals, the demands of a digitally connected world rarely stop. There is always another story to tell, message to answer, deadline to meet, or stream of information competing for our attention. And during Advent, the busyness of work and holiday preparations can leave little room for the quiet anticipation that prepares our hearts for Christ. Yet Advent invites us to something countercultural: the gift of sacred silence. Not an escape from the world or a rejection of media, but an intentional making of space to listen more deeply for God's presence amid the noise.

This presentation explores how to navigate a busy Advent season punctuated by chosen moments of silence, prayer, and reflection. Through practical strategies, including media fasting and intentional digital boundaries, participants will discover ways to cultivate interior stillness and become more attentive to God's presence. Sacred silence is less about setting aside a quantity of time and more about creating interior space to be present—to God, to others, and to the deeper meaning of the work we do—as we prepare to welcome the Word made flesh.
