Rules and Regulations
St. Juan Diego Collegiate Rules and Regulations
General Rules
- Eligible entries are restricted to work published from January 1 through December 31, 2026.
- Work must be published in a Catholic college or university publication or posted on its website.
- Submitters may enter the same work in more than one category.
- Submissions must meet all regulations and deadlines.
Division Rules
Alumni Magazine Division
- Publications must be produced by a Catholic college or university.
- CMA membership is not required, but members receive lower entry fees.
- Member entries must be the original work of the member organization's staff or freelance contributors, or of a CMA Freelance Member.
- Member dues must be paid by March 31, 2027, to be eligible for an award.
- All entry fees must be paid by February 12, 2027.
- No refunds are offered after judging has been completed.
Student Division
- Students must be enrolled full or part-time at an accredited Catholic college or university.
- Entries are free. Each student may submit up to 10 entries, and schools have no entry limit.
- Professors and advisers may enter work created by students for the publication.
Disqualification
Entries are disqualified for any of the following:
- Plagiarism
- Work published outside a Catholic college or university publication or website
- Failure to meet all regulations and deadlines
If a judge disqualifies an entry, the judge informs CMA's awards coordinator, who notifies the submitter.
Lack of Submissions
If a category receives only one submission, CMA reserves the right to move the entry to another category. If the entry cannot be moved, it is removed from the program. In that case, the category is not judged and any entry fee paid is refunded.
Judging
Entries are judged by selected professionals knowledgeable about Catholic media, including faculty from prominent Catholic journalism schools. Our judges bring a wealth of experience in various media, ensuring a fair and informed evaluation of each entry, and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity throughout the evaluation process.
