Event Details

Catholic Voices is a communications project to train Catholics to speak in media and other environments about controversial issues related to the Catholic Church. The Catholic Voices method is based on the idea that heated disagreements are not always about what they seem, and that behind strongly held positions there are often values, or notions of the good, that both sides agree on. Good communication consists in finding the good that the other seeks, and starting one’s communication from this common ground. Based on his experience since the project started 15 years ago, Jack Valero will explain how the method has helped people in different countries tell the Church’s story in a compelling way.

In 2010 Jack Valero started Catholic Voices, an organization that helps people speak with the media about the Church and the Catholic faith. Since then, CV projects have taken place in more than 20 countries around the world. Jack was press officer for the beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman in 2010 and his canonization in Rome in 2019. He is the press officer for Opus Dei in Britain and the co-author of the book "How to defend the Catholic Faith without Raising Your Voice." Hosted by Brian Finnerty.
