Serving as Catholic media professionals has its challenges, especially when it comes to a healthy work-life balance and stress management. Join Dr. Jill Duba Sauerheber as she discusses the body’s response to stress and how chronic stress can impact psychology, biological and social wellness. She will offer self-care and regulation strategies based within integrative care models, and demonstrate the relevance of engaging spiritual virtues as Catholic communicators.

Dr. Jill Duba Sauerheber is Professor and Department Chair at Western Kentucky University, where she has served in leadership and academic roles for many years.

With over 25 years of experience as a therapist, she is a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, certified in EMDR and Brainspotting, and a Certified Brain Health Professional. She has also completed training through the Institute of Functional Medicine, incorporating systems science and integrative care into her private counseling practice.

Dr. Sauerheber provides counseling and mental health training for the Diocese of Owensboro and has served as an annulment advocate, RCIA leader, parish ministry volunteer, and longtime faculty advisor for WKU’s Newman Center.

A prolific scholar, she has authored over 45 peer-reviewed journal articles and four books and presented more than 50 times at national and international conferences. She is the past president of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology, a former board member of the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, and an editorial reviewer for the Journal of Individual Psychology.

She holds a green belt in jujutsu, enjoys lake time with her husband and chocolate lab, and is looking forward to leading a monthly Lectio Divina prayer group at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bowling Green.
