Staying Within the Ethical Lines on AI: A Roundtable Discussion

While the Vatican has stated that AI is a “tool” that “marks a significant new phase in humanity’s engagement with technology,” Catholic communicators and media organizations often struggle to understand how best to build a strategic and ethical artificial-intelligence presence.

Drawing on questions and concerns raised by CMA members and on guidance to communicators from Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical “Magnifica Humanitas” and from other media organizations, the Media Ethics Committee will lead a roundtable discussion focusing on outlining ethical lines Catholic media professionals should consider in using AI, lines to best impact our audiences and honor our humanity.
