Event Details
In this webinar, editors, journalists, and communication professionals can learn about the new National Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry and the latest data on Hispanic Catholics to create content about initiatives and inspirational stories and share them with the Church. Mar Muñoz-Visoso, executive director at the Secretariat of Cultural Diversity in the Church at the USCCB, will also talk about the importance of engaging different generations of Hispanic Catholics, how to listen to the needs (and preferences) of Latino Catholics, learn more about their gifts and contributions and adapt communication strategies to reach and engage Hispanic Catholics -- in and out of the pews. If you want to go beyond the surface, connect with different generations of Latino Catholics and work together as one Church, join this webinar on Oct. 16.
Maria del Mar Muñoz-Visoso is executive director of the Secretariat of Cultural Diversity in the Church at the USCCB, where she previously served as assistant director of media relations. She also worked for the Archdiocese of Denver in various capacities, including as co-founder and first executive director of Centro San Juan Diego, a pastoral institute and adult education center for Latinos, as director of Hispanic ministry, and as editor of El Pueblo Católico, the Spanish-language newspaper. She serves on several boards, including for the Instituto Fe y Vida, the Hispanic Access Foundation, and the Latino Pastoral Leaders Initiative of Leadership Roundtable. In 2010, Mar received the Benemerenti Medal from Pope Benedict XVI for exemplary and sustained service to the Catholic faith.
