Catholic Media Association Announces Opening of 2024 St. Juan Diego Collegiate Awards Program

CHICAGO, Illinois (Nov. 1, 2023) — The Catholic Media Association announced today the submission period is officially open for the 2024 St. Juan Diego Collegiate Awards. This competition is for Catholic Students and Alumni Magazines, and honors a wide range of journalistic skills and specialties, encouraging excellence and fostering a vibrant Catholic journalism community. For Alumni Magazines, this program adds recognition to your work and enhances the visibility of your university and alumni.

For Students, the program provides aspiring journalists and media professionals a critique of your work, and introduces you to hundreds of journalism and communications professionals from throughout North America. Thanks to the generosity of CMA Members who contribute to the Next Century Fund, students are able to submit their work for competition free of charge.

The St. Juan Diego Awards Committee has made significant changes to this year’s awards competition, including the addition of more than a dozen new categories. Also new this year: hard copy submissions are no longer required as part of the awards submission process.

Winning entries receive recognition in the annual Awards Issue of The Catholic Journalist and are viewable on the award portal of the CMA website. Winning entries are promoted on the Catholic Media Association’s social media channels.
